On April 17th, Isaac E. Young Middle School's Science Department hosted an engaging event for students and families to delve into the exciting realms of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics (STEAM) through engineering design challenges and interactive stations. IEYMS Ignites Innovation: STEAMfest featured science exploration, student project presentations and family fun for the entire school community to enjoy!
The event demonstrated student talent across multiple STEAM disciplines with a Student Research Project Exhibit, a Mars Rover Challenge, the STEAM Club’s Lego Robotics and Coding Station, as well as Media and DIY Club projects. STEAMfest Discovery Stations engaged community participants in extracting DNA from strawberries, investigating chemical reactions, analyzing rocket designs, engineering towers, testing out robo arms, designing solution-based prototypes out of recycled materials and much, much more!
